Mateo Apartments - Creating livable spaces with interior renovation, remodeling, construction, and contemporary design.
Mateo Apartments is a premiere destination for upwardly mobile families in Arlington with trees, green spaces, gardens, swimming pools, and tennis courts.
The problem? A sprawling interior with chipped paint, drab furniture, and faded carpets. ICM Construction got the call, and we got to work.
Over the next two months, ICM collaborated with owners and managers to completely renovate and remodel every surface of the main building, opening the foyer to natural sunlight with twenty-foot floor-to-ceiling windows and transforming shared offices, leisure areas, and entertainment rooms into impeccable designed and decorated contemporary spaces.
We selected and installed the furniture, lighting, A/C system, flooring, and materials. Our team matched the exterior color scheme with elaborate interior painting, from tasteful cream-colored hallways to patterns and designs in playrooms and bathrooms. Plumbing? That was us, too.
Mateo Apartments is a great group of folks, and we’re proud to be a part of a more beautiful and livable Arlington.

Barret Apartments - Facing the most ambitious property and exterior renovation in ICM’s history.
Imagine if you sold a two-bedroom home in 2021 and found, in that same spot, just three years later, a Texas-sized mansion. Who would recognize Barret Apartments today? Almost no one. Here are (a few) things we did for the good folks at Barret.
- Renovated, restored, and repainted every unit, from roof tile to bathroom tile, from 1970s mustard-colored paint and drafty rooms to calming shades of blue and white and sliding doors that click.
- Constructed a 1,600 sq. ft. recreation area with a playground, outdoor seating, and a rustic stone and cedar bungalow with a stainless steel grill.
- Cleared, dug, and ran piping for a new pool and recreational area with ant-slip stone and child-proof wrought iron fencing, accented with easy-to-maintain Southwestern-style gardens.
- Planted over forty new trees.
- Planted 250 evergreen shrubs.
- Laid hundreds of yards of Bermuda grass and installed a new irrigation system for year-round greenery.
- Opened decks and porches to sunlight and traded expensive metal railings with stained cedar.
- Restored plumbing, repaired electrical systems, replaced aging HVAC systems, and installed low-cost security lighting so that families live safe and secure.
Barret Apartments’ new leadership brought us a bold vision, and they also brought a budget.
How did we deliver big plans on time and on budget? Because we’re a team of disciplined, hard-working, and motivated problem solvers who believe that commercial property owners are a force for good in our community.

Flood Damage
During the 2020 rainy season, a project manager in North Fort Worth called ICM. His firm had acquired a property a week before a two-day rainstorm caused interior and exterior flood damage.
We offered a consultation and quote. The client accepted.
The next day, ICM sent four trucks with 20 men to mitigate the damage and start repairs.
ICM contractors removed wet items and debris, checked for mold, inspected spaces that trap moisture, pumped out water from sub-floor spaces, and placed heaters, fans , and blowers to dry out salvageable material.
Repairs were extensive: floorboards, doors, electrical, and paint work, to start.
Timeline: Two weeks
Results: Tenants moved back in 15 days later
